General Information
Shipping
Handguns - Use either UPS or FedEx Next Day Air service. Using the lowest cost service is recommended (i.e., Next Day Saver), as getting a package in before 10:00 AM won't diminish the in-shop time appreciably, and will only add cost to the project. Be sure to insure the package for full retail value. We return ship via FedEx or UPS shipping, unless other arrangements are specified. Long guns - You may use either UPS, FedEx, or USPS. Be sure to pack both securely and discretely. Long guns are much more prone to damage by mishandling due to their length. We typically ship long guns via FedEx Ground, unless other arrangements are made in advance. Long guns that are received for work in our shop, need to be shipped to us in a hard case. For those that are not, the cost of one will be added to the invoice.
Instructions
Before shipping any firearm to us we ask that you contact us to receive an authorization. Please place a letter of instruction in the package with your firearm. If we have had previous correspondence, we keep copies, and will use them to write a work order, but too often, something is discussed over the phone prior to receiving a gun for work, and doesn't accompany the gun in the form of written instructions. Believe me, no one wants your gun to be right the first time more than we do, but we can't remember everything. Help us out by writing it down. If your gun is in house for work, and you need to change something, no problem, unless we've already passed that point in the job. Either call or email us (email preferred), and we'll make the change to your order, and confirm it in writing (email if possible).
If you wish to receive some or all of your old parts back, please let us know when your gun is sent in. If not, they will not be available after-the-fact.
Delivery times and estimates
We work very hard to meet estimates, especially if a deadline is concerned. Please let us know as far in advance as possible if a class or a hunt is involved. We can usually accommodate. Most delivery times are dependent on our workload. We try not to deal with vendors that make us wait an unreasonable length of time. Their supply line problems shouldn't have an effect on your delivery time. There is usually someone comparable or better who is in stock, and ready to do business. For that reason, we won't wait a month for a Bar-Sto when Ed Brown, Kart, or Nowlin are ready to deliver today. If a delay does look imminent, we will let you know as soon as we find out, and we'll discuss it.
Payment
We accept Visa and MasterCard, in addition to personal checks, and money orders.
While some projects may require an advance deposit, full payment is required when the project is completed.
Quality
Every job we do is important. To us and to you. Each is done to the very best of our ability, with your complete satisfaction as our goal. We use the best parts and materials available. If ever you are dissatisfied with our work for any reason, you need to let us know ASAP. We will remedy the situation, and you will be satisfied. If you like, we'll refund your money... immediately. We can't make things any simpler than that. It seems popular these days to voice any dissatisfaction with a product or service in public internet forums. If you present a problem to us, and we are unable to satisfy you, have at it. If however, you post negatively on a public forum prior to advising us that you are dissatisfied, enjoy your 15 minutes of fame, as we will not speak again.
