This is a clamshell type arrangement manufactured from Aircraft Grade 6061-T651 aluminum and secured with a Flat Head Cap Screw (FHCS) the same diameter as the later factory cross screw. All threaded holes have stainless steel Heli-Coil inserts, installed after hard anodizing flat black. The barrel band may be attached with the rail on either the left or the right side. A light, laser, sling attachment, etc. may be attached very easily to the Picatinny rail. This assembly uses a #10, or 3/16" dia. securing screw, which replaces the factory Marlin part of the same diameter. Earlier Marlins used a smaller 1/8” diameter screw and will require minor modification to work.
They are currently in stock and available for 1894's chambered in .357 Magnum, .41 Magnum, and .44 Magnum and 336's chambered in .30-30 Winchester (possibly .35 Remington). Some factory barrel bands are located closer to the front sight than others and will require removing a small bit of material from the back of the front sight for proper clearance. These will only fit your rifle if it has a front barrel band from the factory.
